The County government of Laikipia is sending over 300 employees to the Kenya Inter Counties Sports Association with a budget of Sh16m, with members of staff going for the second month without salary payment.
On Friday, governor Joshua Irungu flagged off the participants in Nanyuki town, directing the finance officer Henry Kimani to ensure they get their Sh4,000 each daily allowances before they leave.
By yesterday when they were to leave, the participants had not received the stipend for the 10 days they will be at Thika town for the sporting activities.
