OUT OF SCHOOL SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION PROGRAM. (OSSTEI)

Through the Office of the President and the Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology education in Africa (CEMASTEA) and the County Government of Laikipia, We were were identified and invited to join other entrepreneurs who are the change makers of our society across the Country for the Launch of Out of School Science, Technology and Innovation (OSSTEI) program.

The program was a three days workshop where some introduction and leveling expectation was done by Dr. T Mboya, A STEM Expert, at CEMASTEAand E Nyamwaro, the Convener of National STEM Learning Ecosystem in Kenya. Bieng the Launch of the program, 9 counties were invited to showcase some of the most innovations and technologies that are changing lives of their communities.
The participating counties were,
Laikipia County
Wajir County
Makueni County
Kilifi County
Garissa County
Kakamega County
Lamu County
Nyeri County
Nairobi County.
The Opening ceremony was remarked by Mr. Alfred Cheruyot the Principal Secretary, Post Training & skills Development. Mr. Mukhar Abdi Ogle, OGW, EBS Secretary Strategic Initiatives, Cabinet Affairs Office gave a presentation and asked the attendants to Stop “Kizungu Mingi” and take actions of their respective responsibility. The Chief Guest Ambassador (Dr.) Amina Mohamed CBS,CAV, Cabinet secretary Ministry of Education read her speech and asked the participants to be the champion of change in the society through the OSSTEI program.
